I was given a book today from my publisher titled, “Extraordinary Parents” that I look forward to reading.  Have any of you read any great books lately regarding children that you would like to share?  Please post them here and we can all share together.

On the Jonas front, he’s starting to learn to wave hello and bye-bye and to cry for Mommy when she leaves him (melts you down, doesn’t it Moms?).  He is such a sweet, precious little boy!

We have sleeping issues in our house. Caroline {who is 3} still rarely sleeps through the night. Each night is a battle to get her to sleep. Emma {who is 13 months} has a more structured sleep schedule but we still have a bottle to go to sleep.
Anyway, I am slowly reading Sleeping Though the Night by Jodi Mindell. My fingers are crossed that one day, they will sleep through the night. So far this book has been fabulous and full of useful information.

On a different subject… as far as fabulous children books, Emma absolutely loves the board book, Peek-A-Who? by Nina Laden. We read it at least 10 times a day. We also love All the Places to Love by Patricia Maclachlan and On The Night You Were Born by Nancy Tillman. They are releasing the board book version of On The Night You Were Born in January of 2010. What are your favorite children’s books?

    Hi Hailey!
Oh, you poor thing. No rest for the weary, I take it? Jonas has just started doing a 10,11 pm - 6 am schedule which has been great! We look forward to the day when he goes down at 8:30,9:00 and sleeps until morning. Please feel free to post the tips you learn from your book here on the blog. I’ll file them in a category where all can see.

Thank you for your suggestions on books. I’ll have to look into these “board” books you mentioned. As for my favorites, I’ve always loved “Good Night, Moon” by Margaret Wise Brown and a book that was given to Jonas that I read to him often is “Love You Forever” by Robert Munsch.
